The Hidden Power 1.0 & 2.0 Tool List

The complete listing of the 50 tools installed with the Hidden Power 1.0 & 2.0 tool set and descriptions of each tool appear below. The listings are divided by sections according to how the tools appear in the interface.

RGB Separations

Split RGB Channels
Flattens image with warning. Separates an RGB image into Red, Green, and Blue channels as separate layers in the Layers palette. Tone only. Leaves a copy of the original as the Background.

Preview RGB
Adds color preview layers to the Red, Green and Blue layers created by using the Split RGB Channels separation.

Split RGB w/Preview
Separate RGB and apply color preview. Runs both Split RGB Channels and Preview RGB in one step.

Luminosity Separations

Split Luminosity
Flattens image with warning. Creates a Color and Luminosity separation of the current image over a Composite layer. Leaves a copy of the original as the Background.

Add Luminosity
Creates a Luminosity layer at the top of the layer stack from the visible image. used for tonal adjustment.

RGBL Separation

Split RGBL
Separates using Split RGB w/Preview and adds a Luminosity layer to the top of the stack. Offers the advantage of using color correction in RGB and the tonal oriented correction of luminosity for the best in correcting color and tone independ.

CMYK Separation

CMY Setup
Preliminary setup for CMY separation by splitting the image into three layers, named for the three colors and set to Multiply.

CMY Color
Adds screen colors to CMY Setup to provide a preview of the CMY image as a filtered separation.

CMY separation
Converts CMY channels to tone, then applies screened colors as a preview of the CMY separation result.

CMYK Black
Duplicates the original color background to a new document. Create a custom black separation. The custom black separation is copied back to the original image, providing the black (K) element to complete the CMYK separation.

Apply Black
Allows the user to generate a custom scheme for removing CMY colors based on the added black separation. Sets up the removal of color information under the black only by using screened layers. These layers can be adjusted before committing.

Remove Black Color
Commits the color removal changes by merging the black layer color adjustments.

CMYK Process
Runs through all steps of the CMYK process, including: CMY Setup, CMY Color, CMY separation, CMYK Black, Apply Black, and Remove Black Color.

Make CMYK Split
Copies CMYK color plates to separate images. These can then be saved in a custom DCS file for use.

Preview CMYK
Provides a preview of the Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, and Black color plates separated using Make CMYK Split.

Duotones

Duotone Setup
Flattens image with warning. Creates a layer setup from a flattened image using the luminosity. Builds the duotone over a composite layer using Black and one spot color (Spot 1).

Duotone Bar
Creates preview bars directly on a duotone image to show a preview of the quality of the color mixing.

Delete Duotone Bar
Removes the bars created with the Duotone Bar preview tool.

Curves

Curves
Initiates creation of a monochromatic curve as an Adjustment layer

Masking

Blend Mask
Creates a user-targeted mask based on image tone. User targets image areas using curves to target specific tone.

Saturation Masking
Flattens image with warning. Creates a user-targeted mask based on image color range using Hue/Saturation. For use with a flattened image.

Transparent Blending

Transparent Grayscale
Creates a new layer from the current layer that has gradient transparency applied. Transparency is based on the tone of the layer. White areas will become completely transparent, and black will be completely opaque.

Clear Grayscale
Creates transparency in the current layer based on tone. White areas will become completely transparent while black will be completely opaque. Will not work on backgrounds.

Clear White
Creates transparency in the current layer for pure white only. White added on this layer will also become clear. Will not work on backgrounds.

Clear Black
Creates transparency in the current layer for pure black only. Black added on this layer will also become clear. Will not work on backgrounds.

Commit Transparency
For use with Hidden Power Clear tools only. Apply to cleared layer. Changes blended transparency to actual transparency in the current layer.

Drop Black
Creates transparency in the current layer, in a gradient between 0 levels (100% black) and 31 levels.

Color Tools

Reduce Color Noise
Separates an image into color and tone, and allows the user to apply blur (separate from the tone) to the color to eliminate digital noise.

Color Balance
Initiates creation of a Color Balance Adjustment layer.

Snapshots

Snapshot
Stores a merged version of the current image view above a Snapshot Mask layer. Users can name the snapshots for easy reference.

History Brush
Selects the brush tool, changes foreground to white and turns on the visibility of the selected layer. The selected layer should be a Snapshot Mask created with the Snapshot tool.

Sharpening

Sharpen
Creates an inverted, blurred Overlay layer that mimics darkroom sharpening.

Sharpen Plus
Creates an inverted, blurred Overlay layer that mimics darkroom sharpening, then invokes the Elements Unsharp Mask filter.

Alpha Channels

Delete Selections and Alphas
Flattens image with warning. Purges all selections and alpha channels from an image by splitting all the channels, then prompts the user to recompile RGB using a merge function.

Preview Selection
Shows a temporary preview of a saved selection.

Load Selection
Selection loader for Photoshop Elements 1 users.

Save Selection
Selection saver for Photoshop Elements 1 users.

Shapes

Text to Shape
Changes any type layer into vector outlines. Use only on a layer created by the Type tool.

Make Shape of Selection
Changes any selection into vector outlines.

Guides

Make Guide
Opens the Create Guide dialogue, which sets a guide in the image according to user input. Guides can be moved with the Move tool once created.

Clear Guides
Removes all guides from an image permanently.

Slices

Save Slice
Creates a slice from a marquee selection and prompts to save.

Alignment

Space Vertically
Distributes layer content vertically based on the center of the contents of all layers currently linked to the active layer.

Space Horizontally
Distributes layer content horizontally based on the center of the contents of all layers currently linked to the active layer.

Align Vertical
Aligns the vertical center of the contents of all layers currently linked to the active layer.

Align Horizontal
Aligns the horizontal center of the contents of all layers currently linked to the active layer.

Clipping Paths

Make Clipping Path
Saves a path in the image and makes that path a clipping path.

Delete Clipping Path
Deletes a clipping path that was saved using Make Clipping Path.

Web Color

Color chart of the 216 web safe colors with Hex values
